LaBrian Stewart was part of a winning football tradition in Prattville.

The Northview Cougars hope the success is contagious.

The Dothan city school board approved Northview's plan to hire Stewart as it's new football coach and athletic director. Stewart worked as a Prattville assistant coach the last four seasons, during which time the Lions captured two Alabama Class 6A football titles.

Stewart will be officially introduced on Tuesday.

“I am so excited,” Stewart told the Dothan Eagle newspaper. “I think it is a great opportunity. I plan to apply the things I have learned from various places. There are great kids and it is a great community. There is a lot of excitement. I can’t wait to get down there.”

Stewart replaces Wayne White. He was 7-23 in three years coaching the Northview football team.
