From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--  Selma Mayor George Evans delivered his State of the City Address to residents Monday.

Evans said the city of Selma is strong financially and headed in the right direction.

He laid out the accomplishments and the challenges of the past year during the presentation.

He also shared some of the goals and projects he’d like to see happen in the city in the future.

"Things as we grow as a city and more tourists come, we're going to have to have places for them to go especially once we develop Water Avenue and the Riverfront," said Evans. "People will be coming here and they'll need other hotels to stay in, places to eat, places to park.

Copies of the State of the City presentation will be available at the public at the City Council meeting on February 14th.
