From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--   Storms rip through a Uniontown neighborhood Thursday morning snapping trees, knocking out power and damaging several homes.

Crews were out on the scene working to restore power and clear debris soon after the storm hit.

It damaged about ten houses in the part of the city known as the Village.

Residents say the storm hit the community fast and hard at around eleven o'clock this morning.

Thomas Stapleton was at home when it came through.

"A lot of rain and the wind started blowing real hard, the door flew open and messed up a pretty good bit of my house."

Three homes received major damage but no injuries associated with the storm have been reported.
