From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--  People who live around Arrowhead Landfill in Perry County say their homes and property are now overrun with buzzards.

Dozens of the big birds can be seen flying around the landfill.

Neighbors say hundreds of them have been roosting on houses, in trees and on fences at night.

They say the buzzard population has exploded over the last few years and they want something done about it.

"Once we didn't see this many buzzards and every year it's getting worse and worse," said Ruby Holmes.

Killing a buzzard requires a federal permit.

Residents say they plan to ask the county commission for help to get rid of them.
