From the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom-- A renovation of a main city thoroughfare in Troy remains at a standstill.

Originally, the project on South Brundidge Street was supposed to be finished at the end of last year.

Now, city officials say they are still waiting for AT&T to remove the telephone lines, which won't happen until March 9.

Business owners along the street say the project is long past due.

"It's definitely time," says C.C. Matthews, owner of Trinity Fitness. "When it actually happens, I think a lot of people will be ecstatic. They will be happy to see it."

The project includes widening, repaving and adding sidewalks to the street.
