From the CBS 8 Troy Newsroom--- Brundidge is going green and saving money.
After getting a $69,000 state grant, city leaders say they are replacing 91 street lights around downtown with energy-efficient LED lights.

They say the new lights will need less maintenance, and save the city thousands on its energy bill.

"You're talking about saving energy, green, and cost," says Brundidge Mayor James Ramage. "By cost I mean when you don't have to use labor to have to replace the bulbs as often as normal street lights. That's a savings! Plus the energy. The city owns utilities, but we still have to buy the energy from someone."

The city has already installed around a dozen LED lights on Main Street.
