Mother Needs Help Paying for Teenage Son's Funeral Print E-mail

Kimberly Bennerman of Montgomery is facing the greatest challenge of her life. She says she has zero in her bank account and now has one month to pay a near $10,000 funeral bill after the unexpected death of her teenage son.

Seventeen-year-old Akkelix Brown drowned while swimming in the Coosa River in June. He would have been a senior at Robert E. Lee High School.

The funeral bill is due by September 15th, but until then Bennerman is doing everything to raise money and hopefully with a little help from the community.

August 27th at 10am she will hold a fish fry at Advance Auto on Fairview Ave.

September 3rd at 10am she is organizing a car wash at Advance Auto on Fairview Ave.

Bennerman is also selling $1 raffle tickets and will raffle of a $25 gift card to Walmart and a gift basket. Contact (334)224-4521 for more information.
