Changes to Airport Security Screenings Print E-mail

The Department of Homeland Security and TSA are trying making changes in airport security with a program called "Smarter Security."

A pilot program called Pre-Check prescreens travelers who volunteer information about themselves prior to flying, so they can fly through security. Also, children 12 and under no longer have to remove their shoes, and the number of pat downs for that age group is being reduced.

Seminar on Wild Pig Problem in Elmore County Print E-mail

The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture will be holding a free public seminar on the problem of wild pigs in Elmore County. The pigs have dug up yards, farmland and are threatening Ft. Toulouse.

The seminar on controlling the pigs will be Thursday, December 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative field office at 17560 U.S. Highway 231 in Titus.
