Parole Denied for Man Convicted of Molesting Boys
Tuesday, 31 January 2012 12:14

A former Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout volunteer who pleaded guilty to molesting three boys will remain behind bars.

Charles Donald Corley was denied parole Tuesday morning.

The Birmingham News reports that Corley, now 61, pleaded guilty in 1995 to molesting three boys.

He had been a Sunday school teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood and volunteered with the church's Boy Scout troop.

Corley was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual abuse and two counts of sodomy. He will not be eligible for another parole hearing until 2017.

The newspaper reports more than 30 people showed up for the Montgomery hearing at the Board of Pardons and Paroles headquarters.
