The speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives asked Georgia lawmakers for their prayers for no "fist fights on the floor" as the state begins work next week on redrawing legislative district lines.

Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard visited the Georgia Legislature on Tuesday.

Hubbard, a Georgia native and graduate of the University of Georgia, was invited by Georgia House Speaker John Ralston.

Hubbard, a Republican from Auburn, said the two states "have similar challenges" and can learn from each other.

He said though he lives in Alabama, he will be a proud Georgia native "until I go to my grave."
