With funding continuing to be cut each and every year, many schools can face uphill battles when it comes to being successful.

But one Montgomery school is working each and every day to be the best it can be - and it continues to defy the odds. All of the students at E.D. Nixon Elementary School in Montgomery are high achievers.

The school is considered high poverty - but that hasn't stopped them. They have made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals year after year.
