Students at Elmore County High School have been through a lot this year, with a tornado that ruined property and took lives nearby. School leaders want to end 2011 on a positive note with some help from you.

The school takes part in Alabama's Access distance learning system. That allows students to use laptop computers to take courses like German and AP-level college prep subjects that are offered at other schools across the state.

The problem is, the school needs 40-50 more laptops to take full advantage of new technology. Funding has dried up.

If you'd like to help, call (334) 541-3662.
