Ramona Rhodes is the speech and English instructor at George C Wallace Community College in Selma.

She's the first teacher ever selected for the Golden Apple Award from an institution of higher learning .

Rhodes is an inspiration according to the student who nominated her. Kimberly Johnson says that rhodes has changed the lives and attitudes of her students for the better.
