This week, CBS 8 news visits Hooper Academy in Hope Hull to recognize a special teacher for an outstanding job in the classroom.

Coach Gary Nelson knows how to relate to his high school students.

That's according to Beth Peel, the student who nominated him for the Golden Apple Award.

Young, Humorous and relatable -- that is the magic potion for Coach Nelson as he inspires young minds to learn more.

It's also a way to help students learn things and remember them.
